Case Study: Infinity Technology Consulting Elevating Recruitment and Retention

Problem

Infinity Technology Consulting, Inc., a multi-faceted Information technology consulting firm that specializes in the areas of consulting, procurement, implementation, and managed services for non-profit, government, and corporate entities, was faced with quickly becoming stagnant in an ever-evolving industry where only the most cutting-edge entities survive. Founded in August 2002, Infinity Technology Consulting had always focused on meeting and exceeding its customers’ expectations of what an IT company should be. Years of experience in project management coupled with the ability to initiate, strategize, implement, and evaluate customer’s needs enabled Infinity to provide practical solutions to each client’s infrastructure. Yet without solid hiring and team development processes internally, the company risked their own long-term sustainability and the ability to remain being the value-add they had worked so hard to provide to their customers.

Solution

QDOT offered Infinity Technology Consulting the opportunity to carefully evaluate their internal hiring processes, and Infinity in turn became a pioneer in utilizing QDOT’s assessment tools regarding hiring and team development. Rico and his team first offered insights regarding the company’s foundation and having the right people in key leadership positions. This initial evaluation and ensuing transition proved to be somewhat painful but ended up being invaluable for Infinity’s long-term success. Helping Infinity realize they had the wrong people in the wrong positions eventually led to helping them get the right people into the right positions, utilizing careful scrutiny, incorporation of behavioral assessments, and evaluating what retention meant to the company overall.

Getting up close and personal with the interview process allowed Rico to objectively observe candidate interviews, analyze telling cues such as key body indicators, and summarize appropriately according to position and company fit. Extensive personal training with experts who trained the FBI and CIA on observing behavioral patterns gave Rico the ability to provide a unique X-ray approach into the interview process. He then provided Infinity with game-changing insights based on his analysis into whether candidates were a good !t for the specific roles they were interviewing for, and even for the company overall. Infinity continues to use QDOT’s services on an as-needed basis and regularly sends teammates to QDOT’s annual retreats for recharge sessions. Having learned early on the importance of in-person sessions with Rico and his team, Infinity’s CEO, Edgar Mosley, understands that continuous buy-in into the process and what Rico and his team have to offer is key to the success of these initiatives.

Impact

Today, Infinity Technology Consulting is stronger than ever before, with talented team members in appropriately matched positions, and the knowledge that their processes are set up for continuous improvement around recruitment and retention. Having endured the first couple of years with drastic changes and some internal struggling, Infinity now boasts over a million in sales with talented people in positions that organically speak to their strengths, personality types and behavioral tendencies. Infinity CEO Edgar Mosley believes and upholds the premise that successful people investment on the front end positively affects company sustainability and ultimately the bottom line for the long term. This is what Rico and QDOT brought to the equation and it stuck.
